The Barn

A family run business, Sissons Barn is managed by Ben and Laura who live and work on the 350 acre farm that the stunning oak framed barn sits in. With enough space to cater for 180, the barn is the perfect venue for your wedding day, offering a rural location that is easy for guests to reach.

Laura and Ben have been hosting weddings for eight years, but decided to built the barn with a modern twist last year which now enabled them to host ceremonies & a reception space all year round.”

Investing in Sissons Barn

During the lockdown Sissons Barn managed 30 postponements, whilst furloughing three members of staff and balancing the financial hit. Rather than pause and wait for things to get better, Laura and Ben decided to invest their time and energy into improving Sissons Barn. From streamlining the business side, to developing the gardens across the whole farm, couples will now have a whole host of beautiful backdrops for their wedding day photographs.

Extra Mile Campaign

With wedding venues being hit hard during the Covid-19 pandemic, Olivia Riddiford from Host Venue Consultancy put together a goodwill campaign to highlight some fantastic wedding venues near you:

“The wedding industry has been hard hit during Covid-19.  Wedding venues especially have been faced with challenging times from furloughing staff, continuing to finance high overheads and most importantly dealing with their 2020 couples in a sensitive and thoughtful manner. So many venues have really showed such kindness at a time where couples have been forced to postpone their dream wedding. It was important to create a campaign to celebrate these venues, to get their story heard.”

Going the extra mile

Sissons Barn were found to be going the extra mile for their couples during this tough time, ensuring that their couples were not left stressed amidst this terrible outbreak.

“Sissons Barn has gone above and beyond for their clients by postponing weddings from before the lockdown right through to mid October with some in November and December without question. No couple has had to pay postponement or admin fees for their date change and all couples have received a bouquet of flowers and a card to let them know they are thinking of them and we can’t wait to celebrate soon. They have hosted many virtual calls with couples to support, guide and reassure them through these testing times. We’re delighted to have given the #extramilevenue title to such a worthy business”.
