Fall in love with lists
Lists are the best way to keep on top of what you need to do and to see what is next. You can pick up a journal, wedding planner or even use an app on your phone so you always have it to hand. Use this to list what you and partner have highlighted as priorities and ensure you have a clear outline of what/when/how for your wedding day.

WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK TO WORK OUT YOUR PRIORITIES
Money Talks
Make sure you and your partner sit down together early on in the planning to set a budget. Not just an overall budget, but a rough breakdown for how you will allocate it across the different suppliers and requirements. It is best to be completely honest at this point about what you can realistically afford as a couple, without putting yourself in debt.

Friends and Family
Start your guests list as soon as possible, the amount of guests you hope to invite will dictate your venue and the costs for your big day. If you and your partner are paying for your wedding day, avoid any inviting people that you wouldn’t miss if they didn’t attend your day. As such, politetly let family members know that you will be curating your guest’s list.
venue searching
Narrow down what you are looking for in your wedding venue (location, capacity, vibe/theme), once you have picked the ideals make a shortlist of venues to view. It’s a great idea to look up weddings or styled shoots that took place at your shortlisted venues, this will give you a vision of what they can do, and whether it will work for your wedding day!

Pick your wedding party
This is one of the most exciting parts of your planning and really helps you out. Once you have picked your wedding party, your wedding party is likely to offer to help out with aspects of your wedding planning. If any of your party is already married, it may be worth chatting to them about their suppliers – Word of mouth can be the best review!

Work with your suppliers
Meet with potential suppliers to make sure you pick the one that works for you. It has to be someone that you and your partner feel comfortable with, and someone who you feel you can trust to recreate your vision for your wedding day. Check out their reviews online, their galleries, and any recommendations for friends and family.
Planning Inspiraiton
Pinterest is a great place to put together some mood boards of how certain aspects of your wedding day will look. You can even share these with your chosen suppliers! Sit down and think about the weddings you have attended and what your loved/didn’t love from those weddings.
