Venue Review – Cams Hall, Fareham

Today we are proud to welcome Charlotte from Charlotte Suzanne Weddings to the Vicinity Weddings blog, Oxfordshire based Charlotte is a wedding planner who has been organising events for 10 years. Charlotte has kindly shared this wonderful review of Cams Hall, and why YOU should check it out.

This stunning Georgian venue, sitting near the South coast gives you the choice of how to spend your wedding day: indoors or outdoors!

Cams Hall is an exclusive hire venue available on Saturdays and Sundays for fully licensed civil ceremonies, intimate wedding breakfasts, and larger marquee receptions. They believe in giving couples freedom over how they wish to celebrate their special day so there are no packages, minimum spend or corkage. Upon booking Cams Hall, they will happily share their favourite, trusted suppliers, but couples are also welcome to choose their own.

Ceremonies take place in a choice of elegantly appointed rooms; the Garden Room (up to 80 guests) on the ground floor with access to the terrace and lawn, or the beautiful Oval Room (up to 60 guests) with its decorative high ceiling and far-reaching views towards the Solent. The rooms can be transformed to provide intimate dining for up to 40 guests in a sophisticated and historical setting. Their secluded, private grounds are ideal for larger marquee and tipi receptions of up to 500 guests. Couples may choose to have their ceremony at the Hall followed by photographs, and drinks and canape reception before going to another venue for their wedding breakfast, or spend the whole day there – the choice is yours!

It has got history as well! Cams Hall is a 300-year-old Grade II listed mansion situated in idyllic parkland in the heart of Hampshire. The land here was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and a manor house was recorded as far back as the 13th century! The current building was designed by the architect Jacob Leroux and constructed of Portland stone around 1770. Inside, the building retains many classical and decorative features including the gorgeous cantilevered marble staircase and high ceilings.

But what makes Cams Hall special? Anyone who visits them is blown away! From your journey along the sweeping driveway to your first step into the entrance hall, arriving here feels like the opening scene of a period drama. The classical facade of the building and the expansive views are breathtaking. Their location is private and secluded, and yet close to all major access routes to the nearby cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, which is very convenient for visitors.

It is a perfect setting for wedding photos too. From the cantilevered marble staircase and dramatic, decorative high ceiling in the Oval Room, to the impressive grandeur of the Palladian mansion itself, couples are spoilt for choice for timeless images.

You will deal with the same, dedicated team throughout your planning; from your first viewing through to your wedding day and having worked with them before, they really are a super team!  They are also conveniently situated just off the A27 between Portsmouth and Southampton, and close to the M27 making getting here easy, with lots of parking space for guests. Check out their website or get in touch with the team to quiz them as to how they can help!
