If you’re looking for a barn style venue for your wedding, but not sure what size to go for, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel. With four separate function rooms of different sizes to choose from plus a rural location, that’s also not too far from town, it’s hard to beat Tewin Bury Farm.

Situated not far from Welwyn Garden City, Tewin Bury Farm is within easy reach of local amenities, further hotels, and shops for anything you might need at the last-minute. This venue offers a 17th century Tythe Barn and the nearby Stable, as well as the more modern but similarly styled Millstream Suite and finally the huge Meadow Barn. Each venue space has a rustic aesthetic with modern comforts, and lots of wooden beams and high ceilings, with the exception of the smaller Millstream Suite.
Tewin Bury Farm have over 20 years of experience in hosting weddings and special occasions, so you know you’re in capable hands here. You have the option for smaller weddings and ceremonies of up to 40 guests in The Millstream Suite, or if you prefer larger events for up to 500 guests can be accommodated in The Meadow Barn. They also have their restaurant for smaller gatherings.

It’s worth noting that it’s not uncommon for multiple events to be happening across the four main function rooms at the same time, though each function area is separated across the grounds and spaced widely enough apart that you shouldn’t be disturbed by other events. Each space has its own designated car parking as well as shared parking for less mobile guests. And there is signage to point guests to the right function room, however I recommend making sure your invitations make it clear which space at the venue you are booked into.
The barns at Tewin Bury Farm are fabulous, even with very little decoration. They are well laid out with their own bar area, plus for your comfort they have air conditioning for hot days and heating for cold ones. The fabulous Tythe Barn and Stables each have a minstrel’s gallery/balcony, where you can seat extra guests and from where your photographer or videographer, can capture amazing images of your ceremony and reception. Each barn has its own outdoor seating area or grounds for outdoor games for the kids. They can also accommodate outdoor wedding ceremonies if that’s what you’re looking for.

Tewin Bury Farm have thought of lots of ways to make your wedding planning as easy as possible. They have created wedding packages that include lots of the usual extras, from chair covers and sashes, to lighting options (including festoons), and flowers. They still allow for flexibility though, so that you can do something different if you wish to.
One of the things I love about Tewin Bury Farm are the outstanding wedding extras they offer. The LOVE letters, fire pit, sweet cart and the fairy light canopy are great additions to any wedding but here you also have the unique option to include a car (Tesla, S Class Mercedes or Viano) in your wedding package. Of course, they also have an extensive list of preferred suppliers, you can work with should you choose to.

The menus options for weddings at Tewin Bury Farm are extensive and varied but they also allow for external catering where appropriate, and by arrangement only. Their offer includes canapes and traditional sit-down meals as well as barbeques and more. They’re able to accommodate a lot of tastes, as well as the usual dietary requirements, and their chefs will work with you on ethnic or specific regional cuisine, so if you’re not sure, just ask them.
One word of caution for you though. With the ease of access between the venue spaces it’s possible for guests from one event to wander into another, so I highly recommend you ensure gifts and cards are placed into locked receptacles. Though their staff are as vigilant as they can be, they cannot be available to keep an eye on things 100% of the time. A locked post box or a table in a highly visible spot and you should be fine though. It’s the same with any hotel really, plan accordingly and you’ll avoid problems.

As you might expect the accommodation continues the rustic feel and comfort that you see in Tewin Bury Farms function room. Created to a very high standard you’ll want to reserve them quickly as they are limited to only 44 rooms, however they offer a variety of family rooms as well as couples accommodation. And being not too far from town, other hotels are available for further guests at not too great a distance.
For everything in one place, with a countryside venue and a luxury twist, Tewin Bury Farm is a hard one to beat.
