This week I caught up with Cambridgeshire based Nadia from Refresh Restyle Weddings, one of the fabulous creatives I work with at Engage Weddings. Nadia designs bespoke, handcrafted items for your wedding from her studio, from favours to decor she has you covered. So let’s find out a little more about Nadia, and how she can help with your wedding day….

Tell me a little bit about you and what you do?

I have been married myself for 31 years and have 2 incredible daughters and son in laws. I am a farm girl and a business owner. I love to use both sides of my brain and as well as being an experienced graphic designer and crafter I am also a qualified bookkeeper. At Refresh Restyle Weddings I create beautiful handcrafted products using a variety of traditional crafts, tools and techniques.

Why did you go into the wedding industry?

After relocating from South Africa back to UK, I thought I would get a bookkeeping position, fairly easily, but it didn’t work out that way. I decided to go back into something more creative, and having been in the events industry for several years, weddings seemed the right fit.

What makes your wedding business unique?

All of my products are created by me, most of the patterns are original. Most of my products are created from “scratch” from my work space in Cambridgeshire.

What is your most memorable moment from the weddings you have been at?

I have to say my daughters. It was held over a weekend – Friday to Sunday. The fun, laughter and love shared between family and friends from all over the world,  was very special and memorable.

What is the best thing you have seen as part of another wedding?

I have the greatest respect for photographers, I have seen how they capture “moments” that you can look back and cherish. Definitely use some of your wedding budget on a great photographer!

What is your top wedding tip for any couples getting married?

Get a wedding planner. Again referring to my daughter’s wedding, I thought I would be able to do it. The wedding was planned over 3 different continents, the planner co-ordinated everything and took all the stress away. On the day of the wedding, all we had to do was enjoy ourselves. Wedding planners are worth every penny.
