Today the wonderful Kelly and Matt are sharing their wedding details, from the engagement to the honeymoon.

the engagement
Matt and I had been together nearly 15 years and had 3 children! After a lot of persuading he encouraged me to go on a little holiday, which would be our first ever trip away as a couple without our children or friends! A couple of days before he decided as we wouldn’t get another holiday like this in a hurry he would propose! He proposed in Tenerife, after an evening out we came back to our room with a spa bubble bath on the terrace full of rose petals, flowers, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries!

The Wedding
Where and When
July 20th at South Farm
The Planning Process
We booked our Venue 16 months before our wedding day. I booked all the main things straight away. But then there is a big gap in the middle where there isn’t much to do.
The Budget
We didn’t set a budget, we chose what we wanted at each stage of the planning and went from there.
Wedding Theme
I just wanted it to be very pretty, floral and a little rustic!

The Special Touches
I love flowers so there were lots of those, plenty of photos, special songs sung live by Cara Beard for the ceremony, We entered our wedding breakfast to ‘in sickness and in health’ by Chas & Dave because we love them and we had glitter artists and a selfie frame with plenty of fancy dress accessories at our reception.

Best thing you spent your money on for your wedding
By far our amazing photographer and videographer! There is so much you don’t see, take in or remember in the whirlwind of the day so to see it all documented put together by them was worth every penny! Then our venue stylist Fleur De Lace! It was so lovely knowing that we had someone to set up everything for us on the day so we could focus on enjoying the morning. Also the ‘unicorn’ for the children to ride on during the drinks reception. That was a lovely little touch that Matt arranged.
The Highlights
There were lots, but having our children there was so special! My dad seeing me ready for the first time and walking me down the aisle, getting ready with my bridal party in the morning, Matt and I saying our vows and Matt singing at the end of the night!

The Honeymoon
With 3 children and the limitations of covid-19 a honeymoon is yet to happen but we went on a lovely ‘mini-moon’ in Bath, finished off with a night at our favourite spa hotel a week after our wedding.

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES
Book the main suppliers straight away! I couldn’t believe how far in advance they get booked up. Then RELAX and enjoy it! It flies by. I loved planning our wedding and have missed not having it to think about this year.
