Choosing your food may feel like a simple task, but there is a lot to consider. Whether you opt for a sit-down meal, a grazing table, or even a fun food truck, there are many options for your wedding day catering. Your food is likely to take up a large chunk of your budget, so to help you get it right, we have 20 questions you should ask your caterer or venue.

  3. What are your maximum or minimum numbers?
  4. Do you specialise in a particular cuisine?
  5. What are your most popular dishes?
  6. Do you have set menus, or can we order bespoke meals?
  7. What can you offer for a particular dietary requirement, i.e. vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal?
  8. What can you provide for children and vendors/suppliers? What is the cost?
  9. What do your costs involve (is VAT included)?
  10. Are condiments, linen, cutlery, crockery, glasses, tables, chairs and service included in the quote?
  11. Are there any additional fees for the wedding running over, etc.?
  12. Do you charge for menu tastings, and when do they take place?
  13. Can I see reviews/speak with couples you’ve worked with previously?
  14. Do you provide a bar? What are the costs?
  15. What brands of alcohol do you serve?
