The Inspiration

The idea behind this styled shoot came while talking with other suppliers about things we would love to see at weddings. I was talking with Helen (Creative Decorations) about her balloons and how she would love to do something different to the usual balloon arch. She was keen to get involved in a shoot and the idea grew from there. I really liked the idea of mismatched pastels and felt this would well with the balloons.

The Planning

With an initial concept in mind I reached out to a farm in Northampton and shared the initial idea, they loved it and agreed to host the shoot. The venue offers plenty of variety with indoor and outdoor space, which would be perfect for the shoot. The next person to joining the team was Sofia of Sofia Weddings and Events. Sofia has an eye for design and organisation, along with her planning skills. Having worked with her before I knew she was the perfect fit for the team and helping to make our vision a reality.

The bride

Our lovely model couple of Marilyn & Roland joined the team to show off the stunning bridal and grooms wear. Our bride’s dress was provided by Jessica Turner Designs, the colour worked so well with the pastel theme and shows how pretty a dress in a slightly different colour can work. Our couples ceremony was overseen by Sheron Burt, a lovely celebrant who can create a truly personal ceremony for couples.

Our bride’s look was created by Gemma Harris Hair Design and Jema Jakes Makeup & beauty. They embraced the soft pastel look for the shoot but added a slightly edgy modern feel with the final styling. Jewellery from Sarah Vuong Bridal Jewellery enhanced our brides look. Our bride’s footwear was provided by Inanna Bespoke Shoes, her shoes are all hand painted so she can create something truly unique for your day.Pastel styled shoot_351.JPGPastel styled shoot_296.JPGPastel styled shoot_300.JPGPastel styled shoot_297.JPGPastel styled shoot_008.JPGPastel styled shoot_242.JPGPhoto Credits: Purple Rose Photography

The Details

Helen from Creative Decorations worked all morning creating her stunning balloon sculptures. She started by decorating the gazebo where the ceremony would take place, showing a unique way to use balloons for impact. She also created a balloon arch around a circular frame which we later used to display the wedding cake created by Zoe of Kazoo Cakes. The cake had been carefully designed to echo the balloons and pastel colour scheme, the two worked together perfectly and just highlights the magic that can take place when your wedding suppliers work together.

The venue was further enhanced by the work of Michelle From Highfield Blooms. She created beautiful centrepieces for the reception tables and ceremony table. To echo the balloon and cake design she made a round bouquet for our bride which hung from a central ribbon. Pretty Vintage Hire provided the beautiful tables and chairs used for the reception and ceremony set-up. The table settings were enhanced by the lovely stationery from Tiggity Boo Design, she embraced the initial concept and created something truly unique.Pastel styled shoot_265.JPGPastel styled shoot_271.JPGPastel styled shoot_262.JPGPastel styled shoot_264.JPGPastel styled shoot_272.JPGPastel styled shoot_269.JPGPastel styled shoot_027.JPGPastel styled shoot_059.JPGPastel styled shoot_062.JPGPastel styled shoot_031.JPGPastel styled shoot_028.JPGPastel styled shoot_011.JPGPastel styled shoot_012.JPGPastel styled shoot_225.JPGPastel styled shoot_235.JPGPhoto Credits: Purple Rose Photography

 The Photos

On the day of the shoot itself, we were blessed with dramatic clouds which allowed me, from a photography point of view to get creative and add some drama to the couple photos. I’m a huge fan of big sky photos at weddings so I knew I had to include some time with the couple to do this. The shoot flowed really well, everyone worked well together, helping each other where they could to ensure the final vision came together, I couldn’t be happier with the final result.
