Wedding Planning Party

wedding planning party hertfordshire

What a night! I’m still buzzing from the Wedding Planning Party last Thursday! I couldn’t wait to share with you all how it went and what positive feedback we received. Thank you to everyone who came, and to our trusted suppliers and all that they did for the evening to make it so special! For those of you who couldn’t make it, here’s the recap. You’ll want to be sure to book your next Wedding Planning Party tickets as soon as they are released!

First and foremost the venue! in the heart of Hertfordshire, Rothamstead Manor is a manor house venue that you must see! As we pulled up to the venue, its private location, surrounded by 12 acres of stunning gardens made us feel like we were at an exclusive party event. Rothamsted Manor has all the beautiful historical architecture that a great manor home provides, and it was beautifully lit for our special evening. At Rothamsted, there is a level of elegance, sophistication and class that sets the tone for the evening. I was just thankful I wore heels!

Next, arrival. Guests were welcomed at the door by Becca Poutney the founder of Engage Weddings and her team. Coats were replaced with glasses of Prosecco and Becca made each person feel welcomed as they followed into the drinks and canapés reception room. Sax by Dom and magic from Steve entertained the guests as brides to be sipped and snacked, eagerly anticipating what the evening had in store. Becca gave a formal welcome and set the tone for the evening of wedding planning by watching one of Veiled Productions high end wedding highlight videos. We were off to a good start!

Once we were all warmed up with a glass of Prosecco, we were led to the Great Drawing Room where the room was set for an evening of wedding planning partying! Upon entering Waffle wands were getting everyones attention with the scent of freshly made waffles and the dozens of topping choices! Music by JN Sounds filled the room with excitement as people bustled into it ready with their notebooks to “try before you buy”. The room was centred with Venue Styling by Sara actively laying a 20 foot long trestle table with lanterns, deep blue fabric, gold candlesticks, and stunning place settings.

As guests wrapped around the room, they were able to meet Sophie from SA floristry, and try out her bouquets and talk all things flowers. They then headed for the pallet wall for their professional group photo to be taken by the lovely Becky Harley Photography. Within sniffing distance was the infamous Doughnut Wall by Samsa May’s Bespoke creations which was adorned by the most drool worthy chocolate and vanilla donuts…I’d know, I had them both! Then CR Entertainments was entertaining the guests with tables set for black jack and roulette. After all that, a drink at the bar please!

With 2 drinks in, guests were ready to loosen up at the photo kiosk from Bluemark Entertainment. Props provided, this great touch screen photo booth is super guest friendly and can be set up anywhere for your guests to be entertained. Brides and grooms to be were having a blast trying on the oversized sunglasses and moustaches. You can never have too many photos from a photo booth!

The second room welcomed us with the most stunning wedding cake from Erzulie (formally Meadowsweet Cakes) who asked us to guess how many eggs were in her 6 tier work of art. My Guess- 22. Answer- 39! She let us sample away at 3 of her favourite cake flavours- moist carrot cake, sweet and creamy victoria sponge, and a perfectly tart lemon drizzle while providing brides with helpful advice on what to look for when ordering their wedding cake.

Make up by Gemma Lorraine and La Powderbox adorned our beautiful guests as they worked tirelessly to give brides a sample of what they could do for their big day. Hairstylist Claire from Barberella also worked her magic as she curled and up-did so many of our guests for the evening.

Lee Rushby Photography set up a professional photos option for those who were just made over, or those wanting a beautiful engagement photo. His incredible work was displayed for all to gawk at and his stunning landscape photo albums were on display.

Wedding House venue styling showed off her unique ways to cover your chairs, allowing brides to have a go at tying a professional grade bow, and Helen from Creative Decorations had balloon corsages for brides to decal perfect for a hen-do addition.

It that was not enough, workshops ran throughout the evening where brides could learn a new skill such as calligraphy, bouquet or favour making, and talk to the experts while trying their hand at something new.

The rooms were full of things to do, taste and try while chatting to your suppliers about what they could offer you for your special day. The brides were smiling from ear to ear as the event was exceeding their expectations!

Becca Pountney from Engage Weddings spun around the rooms talking to the brides and helping give priceless advice on ALL THINGS WEDDING! This gal knows her stuff and with nothing to sell but good rapport, Becca was the icing on the cake for the evening.

Brides left with the ability to check off which suppliers they would like to contact them, avoiding endless unwanted emails. And finally with the return of their coats, they were lavished with the cutest silver gift bag full of goodies and discounts to take home.

All in all, the night was a great success! We can’t wait for the next one and are looking forward to all our local brides coming! Be sure to stay tuned for the next Wedding Planning Party date!
