Earlier this month I was invited to the launch of the new luxury wedding cake collection by La Belle Cake company. The award winning wedding cake business is based locally in Leighton Buzzard and has baked cakes for many local brides as well as celebrity clients. I was privileged to be invited down to the event at the Woburn Sculpture Gallery for a preview of their new luxury collection.

The venue for the event was stunning, I love all of the venues at Woburn, but there is something particularly special about the sculpture gallery. On arrival I was treated to a mini makeover by makeup artist Emma Morris, who did a lovely job of making my daytime makeup a little bit more special for the evening. Once I had been made up it was time to have a photograph in front of the stunning flower wall – supplied on the evening by Bella Occasions. Flower walls are becoming the must have item at weddings – and you can see why.

I headed through to the main gallery and could see many of the luxury cakes on display. Each cake had been decorated beautifully with incredible attention to detail. Displayed next to each cake were small frames with the original design sketches in. It was amazing to see how these sketches – usually drawn up in consultations had been brought to life – a lovely touch.

As well as admiring the gorgeous cakes on display, there were plenty of opportunities to taste cake too. My favourite was the chocolate cake, although the raspberry and white chocolate cake was also delicious.

Throughout the evening we were entertained by Ariella strings and Bluemark entertainment. We were also treated to some incredible magic from Lee Smith. The giant Light up letters spelt provided by Bespoke Light Up Letters spelling out CAKE were the perfect addition to a wonderful event.

The event was photographed by Nicki Shea Photography and I am delighted to be able to share those images with you. It was amazing to see so many talented local wedding suppliers together in one room.
