I am a luxury wedding cake designer specialising in ultra-modern, textured designs.

WHY DID YOU START YOUR WEDDING BUSINESS?

Because I found something I was passionate about…something I was good at…something that took me away from everything else…my happy place…and the bonus is to be honoured to be part of couples’ special day.

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN WEDDINGS?

I love being part of such a happy, special, personal occasion. A wedding is an occasion that justifies a big and beautiful creation.

WHAT KIND OF COUPLE DO YOU LOVE TO WORK WITH?

A couple who know what they want when they see it. Are happy to be guided and trust my designs…willing to take a chance and not follow tradition.

WHY SHOULD SOMEONE BOOK YOU FOR THEIR WEDDING DAY?

I offer designs with a difference. Who wants someone else’s cake. Be brave. Be different. WOW your guests with an individual design. Know that once you are booked and your design is finalised, all you have to worry about is turning up on the day and seeing your perfect cake. (liaising with the florist and venue regarding the cake is all taken care of).

WHAT QUESTION DO YOU GET ASKED ALL THE TIME BY COUPLES AND WHAT’S THE ANSWER TO IT?

Can I have a different flavour for each tier? YES… in fact, I totally recommend you do. It would be rude not to.

WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE PIECE OF WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE?

Don’t just pick an image of someone else cake that you have fallen in love with and ask for it to be copied. Take elements of what you like from that design and let your designer use them to create a design that is unique to you. Who wants someone else’s cake on their wedding day?

DO YOU HAVE A DREAM WEDDING VENUE, LOCATION OR WEDDING THEME THAT YOU WOULD LOVE TO WORK AT?

Not at the moment. Although I have a cake booked in at the Wilderness Reserve, which looks absolutely stunning. The cake itself is not overelaborate, but I am looking forward to seeing the venue, and if it’s as stunning as I think it’s going to be, hopefully, I can make connections while I am there.
