THE INSPIRATION
Becky from Becky Harley Photography
I was so excited to work on this beautiful styled shoot with some amazing local industry professionals, that I also call friends! For me, it was really important that we had the chance to work with a real couple to show all the pretty to it’s full. I love photographing real couples and real love, and our gorgeous models Laurie and John were absolutely brilliant in front of the camera! The day was really sunny, so I had lots of fun finding some exciting sun flare on this gorgeous winters day. The light at winter weddings as always beautiful, as the sun is low in the sky throughout the day, so you get a similar light all day long that you would normally have to hold out for until late in the evening for on a summers evening! Lots of harsh light also allowed me to play with some shadows and highlights in the bridal suite.

THE COLOUR SCHEME
Channelling Christmas in a subtle way, the suppliers took inspiration from golds and whites. Beautiful textures are used throughout, reflecting in the dress, to the flowers, to the table glassware! Where possible touches of glitter work their way into various elements, adding a touch of Christmas glitz.

THE FLOWERS
Sara from Queen and Eden
I wanted to pull together florals that created a white frosty winter wedding rather than full on Christmas. Keeping it subtle and elegant. I used a mix of pale silver and grey foliage’s, the main focus being Mimosa grey, teaming with a beautiful selection of white flowers, Avalanche roses, white Astrantia, Snow berries, Tulips and Spray roses.

THE TABLE STYLING
Sara from Queen and Eden
For some perfectly frosty styling touches I added a white sequin cloth reflecting the subtle sparkles in the wedding cake and of course candlelight in silver and pale gold holders. Coltsfoot Country Retreat was the perfect setting with all of its warm fairy lights.

THE BRIDE
Lisa from Lisa Lyons Bridal
This shoot gave me the opportunity to show two dresses from my new made to measure collections. Mira picked up the winter botanicals perfectly in the embroidery with delicate silver edged leaves. Glitter is hugely on trend for 2020, this dress has a detachable overskirt of sparkle tulle, perfect for a shimmering winter wedding.

The Stela lace dress from my Modern Bohemia collection has a more vintage feel, with high neck and seam details. Beautiful leavers lace paired with pretty guipure lace trim complemented the elegant florals of the bouquet.

Rachel from Rachel Sokhal Bridal Accessories
I love the opportunity of being involved in styled shoots and working with the truly beautiful bespoke dresses from Lisa is always exciting. And what would an inspirational wintery wedding shoot be without a touch of sparkle, my ‘Annabel’ Swarovski pin complementing the shimmering ‘Mira’ dress delightfully. My ‘Imelda’ trio of pins were the perfect choice of accessory for the ‘Stela’ lace gown. Romantic and elegant, the abundance of florals and touches of gold leaf were the perfect enhancement for the exquisite guipure lace and framed the romantic hairstyle beautifully.

The Groom
Complementing the Bride our groom is dressed in a timeless suit, matching both Bridal looks. The inner lining of the suit and pocket square add a pop of colour, while introducing a fun textured element.

THE HAIR
Claire from Barberella Bridal Hair Stylist
Before deciding on a hairstyle, I try to take into account the type of venue, general styling, and the dress, as well as hair type. As the first dress was quite fitted, I wanted to go with a more classic style of updo, but giving it some detail and soft texture to suit the styling of the venue. I used Rachels silver hair pin with the white detailed flowers, and combined with a few pieces of greenery from the bouquet to tie in with the floral displays of soft green and white.

For the second look, the dress looked quite vintage so I wanted to do a modern take on a vintage style. I did a twist round to one side finishing in an off-centre chignon. Perfect for positioning the Hair accessory slightly at the back and to the side so it can be seen from the front in the photographs.

The Makeup
Michelle from Michelle Nash Makeup
For the Makeup, I opted for lots of glow and illumination in the skin using a subtle gold highlighting powder and a cream blusher which is the perfect, Winter alternative to a summer bronzed wedding day look. It’s also really pretty in the low winter sun to play with a sparkle on the eyes too – in this look I added a wash of gold glitter over the lids to complete the look and compliment the gorge of gold and silver tones of Rachel Sohkal’s bridal accessories

THE CAKE
Nina from Erzulie
For the cake I wanted to do something sparkly and festive, but at the same time elegant so I kept the colours subtle and monochromatic and let the sparkles do the talking. I adorned it with handmade sugar berries and leaves, all in the same colour, dressed with a white silk bow as a subtle hint to a wrapped present.

THE STATIONERY
Katy from Olive & Millicent
I wanted to create a clean, yet elegant design for the invitation suite with light, neutral colours, lots of white and a touch of silver. The design features delicate winter botanicals and is finished with a vellum wrap and white wax seal to add to the frosted look. I wanted the crest to resemble a Christmas wreath, without being overtly festive, continuing the botanical theme across all elements of the stationery suite.
